Andrea Cote

Andrea Cote (b. 1970) visualizes the physicality of human hair at the intersection of photography and printmaking. Cote creates monoprints by laying hair down in a grid pattern onto an inked plate on a press. The hair slips and tangles, refusing to quite become a textile, and imprinting instead on paper the unruliness of the body.
